The Hotel

Built in 1890, the house boasts many original Victorian features, including ornate stone window frames and a geometric tiled hallway, unearthed and lovingly restored in January 2007. Unlike many other Windermere Hotels, the Hideaway is ever evolving, we blend traditional styles with contemporary influences to create a relaxed, warm & welcoming atmosphere. 

The Reception & Bar

The Bar & Reception area was completely designed around our antique ‘Rowntree’s Chocolate Box’; secured at an antique saleroom in Kirkby Lonsdale; this is Lisa’s pride and joy! Set against the backdrop of crimson walls and black granite tops, from it we proudly display our homemade cakes. Throughout the day, we serve in the Lounge from our extensive Bar List which includes locally brewed bottled bitters, decadent champagne cocktails, a modest range of Malts and a full range of teas and coffees made using Farrer’s freshly ground espresso beans.

The Lounge

An open space to rest and relax throughout the day;smartly refurbished using a mix of modern furnishings and period pieces;
this elegant room is enjoyed by many of our guests to read, chat, surf, play that game of scrabble you never get time to at home; and of course to indulge in our complimentary tea and homemade cakes served every afternoon.

The Garden is extremely peaceful; on sunny days, chill out and listen to only bird song and the gentle sound of our water fountain.

The Car Park

All room guests are guaranteed a space in our free onsite car park.
